After a seven-year hiatus, the International Festival of Minnesota, formerly known as the Festival of Nations, made a triumphant return. The reimagined festival featured participation from 67 nations and ethnic communities, offering global cuisine, hands-on multicultural activities, artisan goods, and music and dance performances. Vendors representing five continents presented authentic foods, cultural demonstrations, and immersive exhibits, providing visitors with opportunities to experience traditions, stories, and flavors from around the world.
Global Minnesota’s Midsommar Networking Event
Global Minnesota’s Midsommar Networking event, held at the Axis Experience Center in the Mall of America, showcased the state’s commitment to international collaboration. The event featured Axis Communications, a Swedish-based leader in video surveillance and innovative network solutions. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about Axis’ security technology and how they use AI tools to promote safer, more secure spaces. The gathering also highlighted Norway House’s BARN (Business Accelerator Resource Network), emphasizing services for the Nordic-focused business community.
International Education Week at the University of Minnesota
The University of Minnesota’s International Education Week is an annual celebration that highlights the institution’s support of international education. Colleges, campuses, and student groups plan events and activities to encourage policies and programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study in the U.S. The Global Programs and Strategy Alliance plays a leadership role in promoting the week across the University of Minnesota system, encouraging colleges, offices, and student groups to find ways to highlight the University’s support of international education in their areas.
